Centre Support Volunteer
Dunedin Centre
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of animals by helping behind the scenes? We’re looking for friendly, reliable, and proactive volunteers to support the daily running of our centre through a variety of essential tasks. Our Centre Support team plays a vital role in keeping everything running smoothly - from helping with laundry and donations to organising and cleaning around the centre.
What You Could Help With:
- Laundry duties - washing, drying, folding, and organising clean bedding and donated goods.
- Donation sorting & storage - organising, cleaning, and restocking donated items and equipment.
- General cleaning & organising - ensuring public and staff areas are kept clean and well organised
You may choose to focus on one area or assist across several, depending on your interests and availability.
What We Are Looking For:
- Organised, and reliable volunteers.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Able to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately.
- Good English comprehension.
- Preferably able to commit for at least 6 months.

Thanks for your interest in volunteering with SPCA. Volunteers are a huge part of our team—we couldn’t do what we do without you!
To get started, just fill out the form below. If you need help, please call the team at your local SPCA Centre or op shop.
A few things to note:
- You must be at least 15 to volunteer in our Op Shops.
- You must be at least 16 to volunteer at our Centres. If you are younger, please check out our sections on 'Volunteering for Kids', 'Volunteering from Home' or talk to your family about fostering opportunities.
- You may need to provide an up to date Ministry of Justice check during this process, and we'll ask about any medical conditions so we can ensure your safety while volunteering.
