Volunteer with usUnlike most SPCAs, Alexandra doesn’t have a physical Centre - but that hasn’t stopped the local team and community from making a big impact.
Every animal that comes into care through Vetlife is lovingly supported through a network of dedicated foster families across Central Otago, or transferred to nearby SPCA Centres (including our operations hub in Wanaka) until they find their forever home.
This community-driven approach ensures that every animal receives the care, attention, and second chance they deserve.

Found Animals
If you have found a sick or injured animal, contact us immediately on 03 473 8252.
If you have found a roaming or dangerous dog, please call the Central Otago District Council on 03 440 0056.
If the animal is healthy and not in danger, please click here to see how you can help.
Lost Animals
We list every incoming stray animal on www.animalregister.co.nz so please check the listings to see if we might have your missing pet.
If your animal is not listed, we have some tips on how to find your pet on our Advice & Welfare section.
