Volunteer positions

Duties will include:

• Running pick-ups/deliveries as needed
• Collecting donations from supermarkets/other businesses
• Delivering supplies to foster families
• Drop off and pick up of animals to and from the vets
• Ensure a safe work environment in line with the SPCA Health and Safety policies; following all safety guidelines, and modelling safe work practice.

Requirements will include:

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Applicants must possess a full, clean, current NZ driving licence
• Have a high level of reliability and initiative
• Good written and spoken English skills
• Applicants need to be physically fit as the work involves frequent bending, reaching, lifting and kneeling
• Applicants need to be a safe and courteous driver, with reasonable knowledge of the Auckland area.
• Be able to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment
• Able to drive manual and automatic vehicles (option to use SPCA vehicle or own)

Shift times are as follows:

• Monday - Sunday (9:00am – 1:00pm / 12:00pm – 4:00pm) *finishing times may vary

We would love to have people dedicated to both regular shifts as well as being available on call. Please note, shift times are somewhat flexible depending on the Centre's need on a particular day.

Please note, it is critical that volunteers apply for areas where they have an interest in volunteering. Volunteers may not be able to switch to other areas after applying. If your desired volunteer area isn’t currently accepting applications, it would be preferable to wait until that position reopens.
