Maintenance Volunteer
Auckland (Mangere) Centre
We are looking for volunteers who are outstanding handymen or handywomen!
To keep our centre in tip top shape, we are always in need of volunteers with qualifications in the following trades: Electrical; Building; Plumbing; and Painting.
We also often need help with odd jobs around the centre, such as maintenance and one off projects.
And to keep our lawns and gardens in ship shape, we are also looking for people who are passionate about gardening and have an understanding of horticulture - but this is optional!
The time required on your volunteer day will vary dependent on number of jobs required.
If you have an area of expertise you’d like to offer, we’d love to hear from you!
Please note, it is critical that volunteers apply for areas where they have an interest in volunteering. Volunteers may not be able to switch to other areas after applying. If your desired volunteer area isn’t currently accepting applications, it would be preferable to wait until that position reopens.

Thanks for your interest in volunteering with SPCA. Volunteers are a huge part of our team—we couldn’t do what we do without you!
To get started, just fill out the form below. If you need help, please call the team at your local SPCA Centre or op shop.
A few things to note:
- You must be at least 15 to volunteer in our Op Shops.
- You must be at least 16 to volunteer at our Centres. If you are younger, please check out our sections on 'Volunteering for Kids', 'Volunteering from Home' or talk to your family about fostering opportunities.
- You may need to provide an up to date Ministry of Justice check during this process, and we'll ask about any medical conditions so we can ensure your safety while volunteering.
